I like the idea of information coming to me instead of me going to all the websites for its updates.  I use pinterest, instagram, and now Googlei.  Before this assignment I did not know what the RSS feed was for.  I love to learn about functional training, so I linked a couple websites to my Googlei

The ability to surf the internet and search just about any question has enhanced my learning experiences.  I am pretty much addicted to it.  I cannot imagine my life without it, because it is so convenient.  I love investing time learning about functional movement.  I love to go onto Youtube and the NSCA website and learn more about proper form of power lifts and Olympic lifts.  I also love to learn about nutrition and new recipes on the Whole30 website.  I do get distracted as well.  Currently I spend a little too much time on Instagram and Pinterest.  Overall the internet and its accessibility is a plus.

I have taken the strength assessment that Marcus Buckingham endorses called Strength finders 2.0. My areas of strength are empathy, connectedness, includer, consistent, and developer.  I have realized that I can easily sense what others are feeling; I always assumed that everyone had the ability to do this.  I lose track of time when I have deep conversations with people, when they speak of their life and what's going on it. I also love making connections.  Whether its with other people or within my profession.   Every week  my coworkers and I have professional development meetings with a local DPT.  At these meetings he teaches us how to evaluate low back pain and he teaches how to properly break down body movements and how to identify maladaptive movements.  In these meetings, I experience so many "aha" moments an I feel powerful.
One area where I feel like I am weak is my ability to be creative.  For so long I felt like this was a weakness that I could improve in, but after reading Marcus's book I have learned that I need to focus on my strengths and only work on weakn

Since creating a twitter account a year ago, I have been following many of my former classmates of my athletic training program.  I also follow another account called athletic training problems.  It is interesting to view comments that other athletic trainers leave about situations they are dealing with.  I enjoy this social network because I can connect with other athletic trainers just like me across the country.

So I am not a blogger, but I suppose I can get used to this.  This website will be used as my personal web presence.  I have used Facebook and Myspace in the past, but I currently use Instagram most.  I have never really searched for a person's personal web presence (PWP) before to learn more about them.  Currently I am really interested in functional movement because of my training as well as my profession.  I decided to look up Gray Cook, since he is an FMS expert.  His PWP is more professional than personal.  I like how he has plenty of videos to watch as well as a page dedicated to the book he has on his bookshelf.  I would like to see a page dedicated to displaying a little more about his personal life.  His PWP taught me to add a little more professionalism to my PWP, because I naturally want to show more of my personal side.
